Last week the team completed all works in Linkfield, this week the team are beginning the works in Kelvinbrook, this is a much larger diameter so does take some time. Unfortunately this section has to be done under a closure as the excavations are much longer. The team will aim to complete this over the next 3 weeks and this will conclude all works in this estate.

Unfortunately, what was initially expected to be an insertion has required a small section of open-cut excavation. The gas main in this area is approximately 1.7 metres deep, which has made the works more complex and taken longer than originally anticipated.

Despite these challenges, all engineering works on Spurfield were completed last week. The team has now moved into Linkfield and is aiming to complete this section by the end of this week.

Following this, the team will move into Kelvinbrook to begin work on the final cast iron main remaining in the area. Due to the size of this main, the works will unfortunately require a road closure.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while we complete these works, and we thank residents and road users for their understanding regarding the challenges encountered during the project.

We are currently working in Spurfield but we are having to pull away due to urgent works that are now taking priority week commencing 29/09/2025, letters will be sent again when we can return to finish these works.

We will be starting this project again W/C 08/09/2025.

Works are progressing well in Cherimoya Gardens and Monaveen Gardens, but it looks like we wont be completing all of this before the summer holidays start, which the team will need to come away and complete the summer holidays works, we will notify the residents when we plan to return to complete the rest of the works.

Works are progressing well through Dundas Gardens and Kelvinbrook, we look to be in Cherimoya Gardens WC 23/06/2025.

Works are progressing well through Dundas Gardens and Kelvinbrook, we look to be in Cherimoya Gardens WC 16/09/2025.

Our WCB Utilities team are currently working their way through Kelvinbrook, this week we are looking to start in Dundas Gardens, we have had a change in how we complete this project plus the material in the ground is different which helps with progression.

Our team working on Mole Abbey Gardens and this will be complete end of this week, we will then move round to Kevlinbrook and Dundas Gardens.

Our team will start on Mole Abbey Gardens replacing approximately 200m of main, after our works will take place on Kelvinbrook and Dundas Gardens as we make our way around the housing estate.
