Last week, the team carried out preparatory works for the upcoming works on Old Watling Street.

This week, the team will begin live insertion works from the junction with Golf Links Avenue to the property known as ‘Moorings’. They will also abandon approximately 100 metres of existing main.

Next week, the team will complete the works on Old Watling Street, including the connection into Golf Links Avenue. They will then begin live insertion works on Watling Street from the junction with Golf Links Avenue.

Planned road openings:

• Wrotham Road: Due to open on 2 October 2026
• Old Watling Street: Due to open on 16 October 2026
• Watling Street: Due to open on 26 October 2026

This week, there is an installation of approximately 120m of new gas main on Wrotham Road, running from the junction with Chalky Bank down to the bottom of the cul-de-sac.

Next week, approximately 180m of open-cut gas main installation will take place from the junction with Golfs Link Avenue up to Casa Lila.

Wrotham Road is forecast to be closed until 02/10/26. Watling Street is due to close on 28/09/26 and due to reopen on 26/10/26.
