Reinstatement is now underway in Summerhouse Close, alongside some remaining reinstatement works on Summerhouse Road.
Our team will also be completing the final connection onto Busbridge Lane, located outside the Pavilion entrance.
In addition, preparation works will begin in the private dead-end section of Summerhouse Road, with work continuing into next week to complete this final stretch. We expect the road closure to be removed from 28/11/2025, with all reinstatement completed at that time.
From next week, the team will begin preparation works in Heathfield Road, including moving barriers and machinery into position.
Work on this section is expected to take approximately one and a half weeks to complete.
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we work to complete these essential gas mains improvements.

Update: 05.11.2025

Last week, our team successfully completed the final section of works on Busbridge Lane. We also progressed our gas main into Summerhouse Road, allowing us to remove the closure on Busbridge Lane and move our working area into Summerhouse Road this week.
Over the coming days, the team will be installing approximately 150–200 metres of new gas main and renewing all services along this section.
From next week, we will be working in Summerhouse Close. Please be aware that access may be restricted at times due to large machinery operating in the area. We expect works in the close to last around one week, followed by reinstatement.
Once complete, we will return to Summerhouse Road and carry out the connection on the opposite side of Busbridge Lane in the following weeks.
We sincerely appreciate the patience and cooperation of residents as we continue this essential gas mains upgrade. Your support helps us work safely and efficiently as we near completion of this phase.
