SOE15095 – Homestead Road, Orpington (Ringwood Avenue)

Update: 05.11.2025

Works have now started on Ringwood Avenue and will be carried out under give and take traffic management. We expect to be working in this area for approximately three weeks.

Our WCB team are now working on our last section on Church Road and have now installed three way lights on Court Road junction with Church Road. Engineering is looking to be complete.

Once this section is complete we will be going into Ringwood Avenue, Runciman Close and Downs View Close.

Works on Chelsfield Hill are progressing well and we have moved our closure location to the jucntion of Sevenoaks road.  Access to Church Road and Worlds End Lane will be accessible via a diversion route. After Friday 10th we will be moving the closure point again to Church Road.  This will make Chelsfield Hill accessible from Sevenoaks Road and Worlds End Lane.

Rushmore Hill is now open and completed.  We have now moved our closure onto Chelsfield Hill J/W Worlds End Lane.
We will be pushing 3 ways from the junction and work on Chelsfield Hill. Once this is completed, we will concentrate on Church road.

We will be opening up Rushmore Hill on 15th September. We will still be working on site but we can complete the last section without a closure.
Once this section is completed, we will start works on Church Road/Chelsfield hill/Worlds End Lane.

We will be opening Norsted Lane on Wednesday 27th and we have placed our hard closure at the A21 end of Rushmore Hill.  Works are still progressing well.

Works are progressing well on Rushmore Hill.  We have closed the junction of Norsted Lane and we have requested an extension on Rushmore Hill until 15/09/2025.

Works are progressing well on Rushmore Hill.  We have started works on Hookwood Road and once completed we will continue on Rushmore hill.

Works are progressing well on Rushmore Hill.  Week Commencing 28th July we will be Starting in Hookwood Road and we will complete this during the school Summer holidays.

Works have commenced again on Rushmore Hill.  We are looking to complete 300m a week for the first couple of weeks and access is maintained to the Coolings Garden Centre via the diversion. We ask you to please not park your cars within our road closure and walk to the garden centre.

Norsted Lane engineering works will be completed Friday 20th and then it will be reinstatement left to complete.  The road closure will be in place whilst we do reinstatement and then we will move over to Stonehouse Lane and Road WC 16/06/2025. The work will then be completed under road closures.

We are starting here with a closure on Norsted Lane on Wednesday 4th June for 2 weeks and we will move over to Stonehouse Lane and Road WC 16/06/2025.  The work will then be completed under road closures.

Our 2 teams on site are completing the engineering works Tuesday 20/05/2025, then site with be cleared over the weekend.  We do need to return at a later date to complete a road crossing on The Meadway at the junction of Windsor drive.

We have a team on this site currently working on the insertion.  We will be adding another team to focus on the open cut from The Meadway – Oxenden Wood Road.  We will then need to close Oxenden Wood Road at the junction of The Woodlands week commencing 19th May.

We have put a new gas main in the whole length of The Meadway.  We are still needing The Meadway closed as works aren’t yet complete and we have a new team joining this site on 14th April to complete the rest of the works to the junction of Oxenden Wood Road.

Prep work is underway on The Meadway and progressing well.  Closure has now moved and access is maintained from Windsor Drive up to Spring Gardens.

Our WCB Utilities team are prepping work which is now underway on The Meadway and progressing well.

We have now transferring the services over to the new main on Oxenden Wood Road. Once this is completed we will start open cutting a new main on The Meadway.

We are currently working on Worlds End Lane between Oxenden Wood Road and Homestead Road.  Works are progressing well and we will have the site cleared by 20th December.

We have a second team to start on The Hillside week commencing 09/12/2024.

We are currently working on Worlds End Lane between Brimstone Close – Oxenden Wood Road.  We are experiencing poor pressures due to the cold snap.  This makes operations difficult and sometimes we are unable to complete.

We are currently working on Worlds End Lane between Chelsfield Hill and Brimstone Close, a second team are working in Spring Gardens.

We are currently working in Brimstone Close.  Worlds End Lane will start 04/11/2024 with the first phase expected to last 10 days.

We have completed an amount of main in Homestead Road, we will be moving onto Brimstone Close next week.
