Project Complete.
Update: 17.06.2025
Our closure this week has been removed, and all site content has been removed.
Our jetwash and road sweeper will be on site this week to clear all loose debris and patches that need a clean.
Update: 03.06.2025
This week will see our team do a prep week of work, involving pre laying services and digging holes in preparation for a double live insertion push to have all engineering works completed by W/c 16th June, the closure will remain for a further week to allow for concrete curing as this will need 3-5 days to set and then we can top the excavations and remove all barriers and our closure.
Update: 20.05.2025
Closure on the Mount has been removed however, due to the number of driveways in The Rise our storage area has remained. The works have begun in The Rise under a closure, works are expected to last another 3 weeks and the closure and all other site barriers will be removed once all reinstatement has taken place.
The works schedule for this project has been extended due to the difficult services the team have found since starting.
Update: 06.05.2025
The team are working in The Mount for this final week to get the mains replacement completed and this will mean next week they will move into The Rise under a closure.
Our current closure will be removed however, barriers will remain to allow for reinstatement to come along and backfill and reinstate while the team carry on with works in another road.
Update: 22.04.2025
Our WCB Utilities team last week finished all engineering works in Nursery Close and our reinstatement team are working away at getting this cleared as soon as possible. The team have moved into The Mount under a road closure due to the location of the gas mains. The team in the first week will be doing prep work to allow for a double push of 70m and 120m, looking to have this road complete in 4 weeks.
Following these works they will move into the Rise but not until the Mount is clear.
Update: 08.04.2025
Our team has completed all works now in Hampton Grove and all site is clear of any barriers.
The team has now moved into Nursery Close for Approx. 2 weeks aiming to complete this whole dead-end road. The team will then Move into The Mount in which a road closure will be in place in the middle of the Road, access will be maintained at all times but may be heavily restricted at times when we have a lorry or digger in the way. The team are hoping they can complete this road in 3-4 weeks including reinstatement.
Update: 21.03.2025
This project sees us with two teams working in the area to complete gas mains replacement.
Team one is currently working in Hampton Grove looking to complete this in 3 weeks, in this road access will always be maintained however, may be restricted at times when we are using our Suc Vac Lorry or Digger. Our team in week one had completed 120m of gas mains replacement. The next two weeks will be to complete this replacement by the 1st of April.
Team Two are working in Mount Pleasant, this road has proven to be much more difficult then first expected. The services have been found to need to be relayed, in which results in double the work load needing to be done. The team are looking to be completed by 26thMarch and site will be completely clear.
Update: 28.02.2025
This project sees us with two teams working in the area to complete gas mains replacement.
Team one is currently working in Beech Road, looking to replace the whole length of this road on W/c 3rd March, the team needed a prep week on week one due to needing to upgrade many of the services on this road. This team will then move into Hampton Grove looking to complete this in 3 weeks, in this road access will always be maintained however, may be restricted at times when we are using our Suc Vac Lorry or Digger.
Team Two are working in Mount Pleasant, week one saw the team make a vital connection at the junction of West Street, this created better pressure into Mount Pleasant and our traffic lights were removed at the earliest convenience. Our team are looking at works being completed in this road in 3 weeks, this road is difficult due to the main bending and there being 3-4 syphons in the road, this then results in us having to dig another connection hole to insert our gas main.
