QUALITY SERVICE EVERY TIME
Our Background
WCB Utilities began trading in 2005 with just the single engineering team, 7 members of staff in total working on Gas Replacement projects for National Grid in the Hemel Hempstead area.
Within a year, we made the move to work as a contract partner with Morrison Utility Services on the SGN distribution network in the South and South East of England, increasing our workforce to 50 members of staff.
It was in 2013 that we ceased working with Morrisons to make the leap to work direct as a Principal Contractor for SGN (Southern Gas Network) in the South East and London areas, exceling to become the first ever awarded SGN Contractor of the year 2017.
With this change our responsibilities grew from just supplying the engineering teams as a Contractor, to becoming Principal Contractor which involves the full planning of projects with the Highway Authorities from start to finish, completion of all Engineering works required plus full Reinstatement of any surfaces once engineering works have been complete, while also managing all Health and Safety requirements where needed.
Over the years successfully growing as a business, it has seen us change depot location a number of times due to demand, from a small industrial yard in Bredhurst (2005) to a depot within the Chatham Docks (2016) to then finally land at our latest and largest depot in Queenborough, Sheppey (2024).
