Update: 19.08.2026

Last week, the team successfully reinstated the gas supply into the new 310m gas main along Halstead Lane, running from the junction with Rushmore Hill to the Halstead Lane bus stop.

This week, the team will open-cut a further 160m of gas main along Halstead Lane, using a top cutter.

Next week, the team will connect the gas supply to the newly installed main and begin relaying the associated services.

Update: 05.08.2026

Our WCB Utilities team completed preparatory works on Halstead Lane, using a top cutter last week.

This week, A 100-meter pipe installation is being carried out on Halstead Lane, up to the junction with Knockholt Road.

Next week, service connections will be completed, and the new gas main will be commissioned, with gas supply transferred to the new main.

Update: 22.04.2025

We have a road closure on Rushmore Hill, we are working under a rolling road closure from the junction of Halstead Lane to Coolings Garden Centre.

In our first two weeks we have replaced over 400m of old metallic gas main and w/c 28.04 we aim to achieve a further 400m of replacement. Once we reach the entrance of the garden centre, we will be re opening the road for a period of time and returning at the beginning of July to finish our replacement scheme from the Garden centre to the A21.

Our WCB Utilities team will be returning at a later date to complete rest of this project.

Our have a connection to complete on The Meadows.  We will then be complete until next year’s Summer holidays.

We have finished works on Otford Lane and site is clear.  We are currently working in The Meadows.

Update: 28.10.2024

We have completed Church Road and now have started in Otford Lane, where the first 300m of gas main have been inserted.  Works are expected to last another 2 weeks.

We are one week away from finishing in Church Road.  Once this has been completed we will be moving onto The Meadows, week commencing 21/10/2024.  We will be working in Otford Lane with a road Closure.

We have completed Beldam Haw, and have moved onto Station Road, this will be completed by next week. Once Station Road is complete we will move onto Church Road.
