Update: 23.09.2025

As of last week, our team had fully completed all engineering works in Bow Terrace, and all site content has now been removed. Work is now complete on Bow Road in its full, however there will be a stage where a project will happen and be due for replacement in Bow Terrace however, this isn’t an urgent project yet. We appreciate the length this project has taken and the community working with us to get this all complete.

WCB Utilities Ltd Project Bow Road, Wateringbury (Bow Rd)

Update: 09.09.2025

Last week saw our team complete all of Bow Road and remove the closure on 07/09/2025. We appreciate this has caused sever disruption over the last 8 weeks and can now officially say that all works are completed. The team are currently working on Bow Terrace looking to finish this last section of the project. These works will take around another 2 weeks in which then our Storage area will also be removed from site.

Update: 26.08.2025

Unfortunately these works will now extend into September for one week to allow for the final gas works and reinstatement works. The road closure will be removed as soon as it is safe to do so and if needed multi way lights will be put in place. Our team last week saw them open cut a further 100m down to waterside Mews in which this week they will try to open cut and gas up the remainder of works that are left. In the final week, our team will connect into the governor and reinstatement the open trench that extends almost 300m.
Once all this is completed site will be cleared completely.

Update: 12.08.2025

This week has seen our open cut team being trial holes to ensure that we have a direct route for our open cut works. The team on site are prep working this week to allow for a top cutting vehicle to attend site to dig one continuous trench from Leney Road to Waterside Mews, this is due to the pipe size needing to be upsized to create better pressures in the surrounding area.
We are still aiming for these works to be completed before schools return in September.

Update: 29.07.2025

Monday our closure was moved on Bow road to the junction of Leney Road to enable those living north to access the crossroads.
Our team currently on site are working on the final insertion works before next week a specialised team in open cut trenching will be taking over for approx. 3 weeks to upsize the old gas main to increase and boost local pressures in the area.
This will be one continuous trench that stretches over 100m in length, however, will be plated for those that need resident access.

Update: 15.07.2025

Over the last 2-3 weeks has seen our team working on both the 6” and 4” gas main that run parallel to each other from the junction of Tonbridge Road to the junction of Glebe Meadow.
Our team this week will be carrying out more investigation work along with a further 100m push from glebe meadow to Phoenix drive.
A further team will be coming to assit with open cut works in 2 weeks time to create a booster main to the local area.
Currently our team are working well and progressing as expected.

Update: 01.07.2025

Our team last week arrive on site inserting just over 170m of new plastic main in the first week.
Upon this they have managed to find an additional gas main that will also need replacing.
This week will see the team investigate and look to abandon the unrecorded gas main, progressing down the road.
Our closure is at the junction of Tonbridge but after a few weeks this will move down as we progress.
