Last week, the team completed preparatory work and trial holes on Camp Road and Woldingham Bridleway.
This week, the team will install 500m of new gas main along the full length of Camp Road, from Hilltop Walk to the junction with Long Hill.
Next week, the team will focus on the open-cut work along Woldingham Bridleway before returning to Camp Road to begin abandoning the existing gas main. This work will start at the junction with Long Hill and progress up the road.
Hilltop Walk: Expected to reopen this week.
Camp Road: Expected to reopen on 06/11.
Update: 30.09.2026
Last week, the team completed the live insertion works on Hilltop Walk up to property 19.
This week, the team will remain on Hilltop Walk to complete the remaining insertion works up to property 50. They will then move on to the open-cut works to complete the works on this road.
Next week, the team will carry out live insertion works along the full length of Camp Road. At the same time, approximately 80 metres of new main will be laid along the Woldingham bridleway, starting from the junction with Hilltop Walk.
Planned road and bridleway openings:
• Hilltop Walk: Due to open on 12 October 2026
• Woldingham bridleway: Due to open on 26 October 2026
• Camp Road: Due to open on 6 November 2026
Update: 17.09.2026
Last week, we successfully completed the Three Elm Lane project in Tonbridge.
This week, we are carrying out approximately 320m of live gas main insertion along the first two sections of Hilltop Walk. Approximately 120m of existing gas main will be abandoned.
Next week, we plan to abandon the remaining 200m of existing gas main on Hilltop Walk. Preparation works will also begin for the upcoming open-cut works on the final section of Hilltop Walk.
Hilltop Walk is due to be completely open on 12/10/26 to allow for reinstatement of the road.
