Over the past couple of weeks, the team has been carrying out gas mains replacement works on Sundridge Avenue under temporary traffic lights, progressing steadily towards Orchard Road.
To date, the team has successfully completed approximately 350 metres of gas main replacement. They are aiming to complete a further 120 metres before moving into Orchard Road to undertake works during the summer holiday period, when traffic impacts can be better managed.
The team will return to the remaining section of Sundridge Avenue once the subsequent phases of the project have been completed.
We would like to thank residents and road users for their continued patience, understanding and cooperation while these essential works are carried out to help maintain a safe and reliable gas network.

This week, the team is aiming to complete the final section of gas main replacement works on Sundridge Avenue between Plaistow Lane and Orchard Road.
From Monday 22 June, the road closure will be removed and replaced with three-way temporary traffic signals on Sundridge Avenue, near the junction with Logs Hill. This traffic management arrangement will remain in place for approximately seven weeks while the team continues to progress the works towards Orchard Road and completes the final connection activities.

Last week we installed our closure on Sundridge Avenue, we are primarily working on the service this week for the care home. Last week we completed around 150m of mains replacement. Next week we will look to get up to the junction of orchard Road.
Reinstatement will follow and then our closure will be removed asap and all other site content.
We apologise for the inconvenience these works have caused but will look to get these essential works completed as quick as possible.
