Last week, the team installed 190m of new gas main along Farm Drive, from ‘Spindlewood’ to ‘Clifton’.

This week, the team will abandon the existing gas main that has been replaced on Farm Drive, completing the works on this road.

Next week, the team will move to Woodcote Lane, where they will install 215mof new gas main, starting at the junction with Foxley Lane and continuing to ‘Grey Timbers’.

Farm Drive is expected to open this week.  

WCB Utilities Ltd Project Rose Walk (Promenade de Verdun), Purley

Last week, the team completed the live insertion of the main on Promenade de Verdun, working from the junction with Farm Drive to complete the works on the road.

This week, the team will lay new main along the alleyway between Promenade de Verdun and Silver Lane. They will also begin preparatory works on Farm Drive.

Next week, the team will carry out live insertion works along the full length of Farm Drive.

Planned road openings:

• Promenade de Verdun: Due to open next week
• Farm Drive: Due to open on 12 October 2026

Last week, we successfully completed the connection into Rose Walk. Live insertion works were also carried out on promenade de Verdun from the Cumnor House School for Girls to the junction with The South Border.

This week, we are carrying out live insertion works from the junction with The South Border. The connection into The South Border has also been completed.

Next week, we plan to carry out approximately 120m of gas main abandonment on promenade de Verdun.

This week, the team will be working on Promenade de Verdun, completing a 200-meter live push from the junction with Rose Walk to the junction with The South Border.
