Last week, the team carried out gas main replacement on The Ridge, installing new pipework from the junction with Linden Way up to property 16.

This week, work will continue along The Ridge, with the team installing pipework from property 16 to the junction with Woodcote Drive. The team will also move to Lordsbury Field, where they will carry out live insertion works from the junction with Woodcote Road to the junction with Farm Close.

Next week, the team will abandon the existing gas main that was replaced on Lordsbury Field during this week’s works.

The Ridge: Expected to reopen on 27 October
Lordsbury Field: Expected to reopen on 9 November.  

WCB Utilities Ltd Project Farm Lane (Green Lane/Farm Lane/The Ridge)

Last week, the team completed the works on Farm Drive.

This week, the team will move to The Ridge, where they will carry out dead insertion works from the junction with Farm Lane up to the junction with Linden Way.

Next week, the team will continue along The Ridge, carrying out insertion works from Linden Way up to property 16.

Planned road openings:

• Farm Lane: Due to open on 8 October 2026
• The Ridge: Due to open on 27 October 2026   

Update: 17.09.2026

Last week, we completed approximately 90m of gas main insertion on Green Lane, progressing towards Farm Lane, leaving approximately 20m remaining.

This week, we are completing the remaining insertion works on Green Lane. We are also carrying out approximately 250m of gas main insertion on Farm Lane, covering the full length of the road from the junction of Foxley Lane up to the junction of The Ridge.

Next week, we plan to carry out approximately 170m of dead insertion works, starting from the junction with Farm Lane and progressing towards Purley Cricket Club.

Green Lane is due to open 22/09 /26 and Farm Lane is due to open on 08/10/26.
