Over the past two weeks, the team has completed gas mains replacement works around the green at the junction of Chelsham Road and Chelsham Common.
This week, the team is aiming to install approximately 500 metres of new gas main, progressing from the fork in the road towards Albert Road. This will be followed by a further week of works to complete the new gas main connections into Albert Road and Alexander Road. Completing these connections now will help avoid the need for additional disruption on Chelsham Road when the team returns to complete the remaining phases of the project.
The team will return at a later date to carry out works on Albert Road and Alexander Road. Affected residents will be notified in advance once these works have been scheduled.

Last week, the temporary traffic signals on Harrow Road were removed and the road closure on Chelsham Common was put in place. This closure is required to allow the team to safely access and replace the existing gas main.
Over the next four weeks, the team will be working to replace approximately 1,000 metres of gas main along Chelsham Common towards Albert Road.
Unfortunately, these works will need to continue under a 24/7 road closure to ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public while the replacement programme is carried out.

Over the last couple of weeks, the team have been working in Harrow Gardens and Harrow Road, looking at completing the mains replacement as of w.c 08/06 before they will look to move out into Chelsham Road under a rolling closure.
Access will be maintained via assigned diversion, and access to properties will be maintained where possible.
