Last week, approximately 70m of gas main insertion was completed on the Landway, from the junction with Millwood Road to the junction of Whitefield Close. A further 60m dead push installation was completed along Millwood Road, from the junction with The Landway.

This week, preparatory works are taking place on The Landway and Whitefield Close.

Next week, approximately 70m of live gas main insertion is planned on The Landway, from the junction with Whitefield Close. In addition, approximately 120m of live gas main insertion will take place along the full length of Whitefield Close.

Whitefield Close and Millwood Road are both due to open on 24/09/26. The Landway is due to open 05/10/26.   

Update: 01.09.2026

Last week, the team worked on The Landway, completing a 100-meter push up to the junction with Millwood Road. This week, the team will remain on The Landway, completing a further 70-meter push up to the junction with Whitefield Close. The team will also complete the remaining works on Millwood Road.

Warham Road (Violet Lane)

Last week, the team completed connections at the junctions with Goodwin Road, Violet Gardens, Houlder Crescent and Thornloe Gardens.
This week, the team will be working on Violet Lane, completing a 90-meter push from the junction with Violet Gardens.

Last week, the team prepared the road along Teal Avenue ahead of the upcoming works.

This week, the team will install 205m of new gas main along Teal Avenue, extending past the junctions with Swallowtail Close and Buttermere Road.

Next week, the team will move further up to The Landway, where they will install a further 100m of gas main from the junction with Main Road to the junction with Millwood Road.

Update: 05.08.2026

Our WCB Utilities team completed works on Ethelbert Road, near the junction with Chalkpit Avenue last week. Ethelbert Road is now fully open.

This week, preparatory works are being completed on Teal Avenue.

Next week, a new gas main will be installed on Teal Avenue, near the junction with Buttermere Road.

Update: 08.07.2026

This week, the team commenced gas mains replacement works on Ethelbert Road. The initial phase of the programme will focus on preparatory works, including excavation and site setup, to enable a larger phase of installation to begin next week.

The team expects to remain on Ethelbert Road for approximately three weeks to complete the planned works. Any customers affected by planned interruptions to their gas supply will be notified in advance. Once the works have been completed, the road closure will be removed.
